Although it often rains in Garsdale, the high rainfall is quickly forgotten and the valley is transformed when the sun breaks through.

The Rise Hill Ridge (from the Coal Road to Langstone Fell)

There is no public house in Garsdale.   In 1851, Garsdale Hall was a coaching inn known as the George & Dragon,
but the nearest places for meals are now:
The Moorcock Inn (just into Richmondshire),   Garsdale Foot (see above) ,   Blades Farm in Mallerstang
and the  Green Dragon at Hardraw.

Sedbergh and Hawes provide a wide range of accommodation and food.
